About
Attention, at any scale
Since I began my career, I’ve found that the most meaningful part of work is understanding, asking questions, staying curious, connecting with others, and trying even when the outcome isn’t certain.
What I enjoy most is making experience design feel human by being calm, interesting, helpful, and clear.
Background
I’ve started my career in visual communication and graphic design. Still, I’ve been dedicated to product and interaction design for the last seven years, from designing apps and websites to contributing to the interaction design of the enterprise design system.
Now that I know how small decisions and details have the most impact, I want to continue exploring roles where design matters and evolves the world.
When I’m not designing
Outside of work, I’m usually writing, watching a documentary, or talking with my friends long after dinner. I’m curious about people, astrology, and the stories we use to understand ourselves. I try to move through life knowing there is always more to learn, and always room to become a little more thoughtful.
Things I keep coming back to
- Writing
- I have a Substack blog, where I write in Spanish about growing up, memory, movies, nostalgia, and the still process of becoming ourselves. Patas de Cisne on Substack.
- Documentaries
- Documentaries always opened my mind to new worlds and possibilities. One I return to often is The Elephant Whisperers. It reminds me that out there we have the opportunity to create work that can be gentle, meaningful, and human.
- Currently reading
- This year, my goal was to read more Latin American women writers to better understand my history, the other parts of life that often get missed, and to get inspired by different voices. El murmullo de las abejas, Temporada de huracanes, and El invencible verano de Liliana have stayed with me well after I finished them. These books remind me that empathy often starts by listening to someone else’s story.
- Designing soundtrack
- Music is part of my life; it helps to echo the mood and energy of the day. Some days I listen to Juan Gabriel, other days it’s ABBA, or Ludovico Einaudi when I need to think. My playlists are always changing, but there’s almost always music on while I’m designing, writing, or walking.
